Press Release Green Strategy Logistics & Systems

MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo: President and CEO: Takeyuki Takahashi; hereinafter "MITSUI E&S") has received an order from Petro Vietnam Phuoc An Port Investment & Operation Joint Stock Company (hereinafter “PAP”), an upcoming port operator funded by the Vietnamese government, for eleven (11) units of Ship to Shore Gantry Cranes (Mitsui-Paceco Portainer) and eleven (11) environmentally-friendly Electric Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes (Mitsui-Paceco Transtainer). This is the largest-ever crane procurement and order in Vietnam for both companies.

PAP is not only meeting the growing demand for international trade in southern Vietnam, but also strengthening connectivity between major ports in Vietnamese southern region by initiating a strategic collaboration with Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP), Vietnam's largest terminal operator. Phuoc An Port is being developed by PAP as the first and largest container terminal in Dong Nai Province and will be one of the largest logistics hubs in Vietnam, welcoming the first container ship from one of the world's largest shipping company, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), in February 2025.

Thirteen (13) container cranes made by MITSUI E&S are already in operation at Phuoc An Port, and with this order, our accumulated orders for cranes from PAP will total fifty-six (56) units, including the five (5) units of Mitsui-Paceco Portainer and sixteen (16) units of Mitsui-Paceco Transtainer ordered in July 2024, contributing to a further increase in PAP's container handling capacity.

MITSUI E&S has delivered more than one-hundred seventy (170) units of container crane to Vietnam over the past 10 years, achieving the largest market share in Vietnam. And we will contribute to economic development through port infrastructure development to meet international marine logistics demand in Southeast Asian markets, including Vietnam, where strong demand for cranes is expected. Additionally, we will expand our port logistics system business in the global market.
