MITSUI E&S Achieves Milestone of 500 MITSUI-PACECO Portainer® Shipments
MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takeyuki Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as ""MITSUI E&S") is proud to announce that it has reached a significant milestone with the cumulative shipment of 500 units of its flagship quay container crane, MITSUI-PACECO Portainer®.
The commemorative 500th unit is scheduled for delivery to Phuoc An Port in Vietnam, further expanding MITSUI E&S’s global footprint in port infrastructure.
MITSUI E&S began its journey in container crane development in 1961, through a technical partnership with PACECO Inc., the U.S.-based pioneer of container crane technology. In 1967, the company manufactured and delivered Japan’s first quay container crane—MITSUI-PACECO Portainer®—to Maya Pier in Kobe. Since then, MITSUI E&S has supplied cranes to over 200 terminals across 30 countries, supporting the evolution of global container logistics for more than half a century.
In addition to its achievements in quay cranes, MITSUI E&S has been at the forefront of environmental innovation with its yard container crane, MITSUI-PACECO Transtainer®. MITSUI E&S has developed electric and hybrid models, and more recently, a zero-emission hydrogen-powered Transtainer®, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. MITSUI E&S is also actively advancing remote automation technologies to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Looking ahead, MITSUI E&S remains committed to delivering high-quality, environmentally responsible solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the global logistics industry.
