2026 New Year's Message from the President (Summary)

Press Release

Takeyuki Takahashi, President & CEO and Representative Director of MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd., has delivered his New Year's message to all personnel, including those of Group companies. It is summarized below.

As we welcome 2026, I would like to offer my best wishes for the new year.

Last year was one of significant global change. In the United States, President Trump returned to power, introducing mutual tariff policies and intensifying international price competition across various sectors. Geopolitical risks also escalated due to military conflicts and regime changes, highlighting the challenges of international cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Japanese economy maintained a gradual trend of recovery, although concerns arose over stagnant consumption due to rising prices. October also marked a historic turning point for Japan, with the inauguration of Japan's first female Prime Minister.
Amidst these developments, in our third year as the new MITSUI E&S, we steadily executed our strategies toward achieving our vision and worked to enhance corporate value.
This year, we aim to demonstrate our continued progress along the path to sustainable growth by steadily executing the key tasks outlined in our newly formulated MITSUI E&S Rolling Vision 2025.

At the beginning of the year, I would like to talk about the current status of our group and the things that I would like to ask of everyone.

Current Status of Our Group

In FY2024, we achieved growth in operating income, ordinary income, and net income for the third consecutive year, and were able to increase our dividends. In the interim results for FY2025, both net sales and operating income increased year-on-year, prompting us to revise our full-year operating income forecast upward. We also paid an interim dividend for the first time in 32 years, making this a significant milestone year. Our stock price also rose from around 1,800 yen at the beginning of the year, at one point exceeding 7,000 yen, demonstrating to our stakeholders that we have entered a phase of achieving sustainable growth.
To achieve further growth going forward, we will engage in human capital management to foster a corporate culture of embracing change and challenges.

MITSUI E&S Rolling Vision

In May 2025, we announced the MITSUI E&S Rolling Vision 2025, pledging to establish future growth potential and the reliability that underpins it.
Achieving this plan is our minimum commitment and responsibility to our stakeholders, and we must accomplish it.
As I mentioned earlier, the global economy remains uncertain, and trade risks, including exchange rate fluctuations, remain high. Under these conditions, we will actively invest in our core businesses to achieve tangible results while appropriately factoring in risks. Meanwhile, in our growth businesses, we will open up new areas under a clear grand design, aiming to create a third pillar of business.

Requests of All Employees

With this in mind, I would like to share a message with all group employees this year. It is the concept of sanpo-yoshi, meaning "benefit for three parties" or "win-win-win."
As a company, it is vital that we continue to be of value to all our stakeholders. I believe that embodying this business philosophy of the Omi merchants—beneficial for the seller, buyer, and society—in our business activities is the very foundation that supports the sustainability of our business. This aligns with our mission: "We build trust and contribute to society through our engineering and services."
I ask that you keep this principle of benefit for three parties in mind in your daily work and build strong trusting relationships with everyone you interact with.

Health, Safety and Compliance

Health and safety are our top priorities. I ask that each of you make safety awareness a habit in your daily work, adopting a thorough attitude of anticipating hazards and preventing them before they occur. With regard to mental health, in addition to your own self-care, please ensure the entire workplace remains vigilant for even small changes, to enable early detection and appropriate support.
On the compliance front, our company exists based on the trust of our customers, business partners, and society as a whole. The foundation of this trust is the very basic attitude of adhering to rules and acting with integrity. I ask that you comply strictly with laws and regulations, prevent all forms of harassment, and prevent information leaks. Always maintain self-awareness, never neglect self-checking, and strive to take appropriate actions.

In Closing

This year's Chinese zodiac sign is the Fire Horse. The Fire Horse carries a strong "fire" energy, making this a year filled with momentum, passion, and energy. This makes it a perfect year for us at the MITSUI E&S Group, as we strive to break with precedent and evolve toward new growth.
Let's cultivate a culture of boldly pursuing new challenges without being bound by existing frameworks, and unite as one team to unleash our full potential.
