50MW Medium-Speed Diesel Generating Plant Ordered by Cyprus

Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S, Denmark (“BWSC” with president Sigurd Andersen), a 100 % owned subsidiary company of Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (president Mr.Yasuhiko Katoh) has recently obtained an order of a Medium-Speed Diesel Generating Plant from Electricity Authority of Cyprus (“EAC”).

The generating plant will be installed in the Dhekelia Power Station at the outskirt of Larnaca, Southern Cyprus, and its output will be 50 MW with 3 sets of Wärtsilä 18V46 type medium-speed diesel engine and NOx removal equipment.
BWSC will undertake engineering, procurement of material and equipment, installation, construction and trial operation in a package deal, and the plant will be completed and delivered in the end of June 2010.

This project is intended by EAC to make up for an electricity shortage during summer time, and is an expansion work of the original plant ordered to BWSC in November 2007.

BWSC is actively carrying out worldwide package deal for diesel engine generating plant which includes engineering, construction and operational management, and has already delivery record of 150 plus generating plants over 50 countries since its foundation. BWSC, with an increasing attention to the global environment, is now extending its business activities to biomass boilers and bio-gas diesel generation with satisfactory performance.
