MES expanding Eco-Bulker line-up All MES built merchant vessels to be Eco-ships
Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. ("MES") have been promoting its eco-friendly bulk carriers "neo56", "neo66" and newly developed "neo60" and the total number of the three (3) designs on order reached thirty (30) . Responding to the worldwide growing demand for eco-ship, MES moves ahead on eco-ship newbuilding for all of its merchant vessels line-up.
"neo56" adheres to the superior flexibility and reliability of "Mitsui 56", MES’ bestselling Handymax bulker with more than 150 delivery records, and further improved the well-reputed propulsion performance and fuel efficiency with newly developed hull form and electronically controlled main engine.
On the other hand, "neo66" has over-Panamax beam (36m), shallow draft and cargo gears, aiming at the best balance of cargo capacity, operational flexibility and fuel efficiency. Since its publication in 2010, neo66 has been highly appraised by operators, particularly in Europe, and MES has piled up its order back-log.
Further to neo56 and neo66, in order to accommodate the customers’ strong requests, MES developed 60,000dwt Supramax bulker with Panamax beam, "neo60", and has several newbuilding contracts.
Currently, ten (10) or more each of neo56 and neo66 are in MES’ order back-log and both their first units are scheduled for delivery in late 2013 and early 2014 respectively. The first unit of neo60 will be delivered in spring time 2015.
MES continues responding to the demands for eco-ships. Hereafter, not only these three (3) types, all the MES’ newbuilding merchant vessels will be eco-ship.
MES is committed to offer high quality and high performance ships meeting the market requirements.
