Order Accepted for Diesel Power Generation Facilities for Mauritius

diesel power generation facilities

Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S (BWSC, Denmark; CEO: Anders Heine Jensen), which is fully owned by Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., received an order for a full turnkey project that consists of constructing diesel power generation facilities in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius.

The new facilities will replace the aging diesel power generation facilities that run on heavy oil and have a power output of 67 MW. The installation is designed to ensure environmentally friendly electric power distribution that delivers a superb level of cost effectiveness and fuel efficiency. Compared to the old system, efficiency will improve by as much as 25% while carbon dioxide emissions are expected to decrease.

BWSC has delivered nine power generating units to the Central Electricity Board in Mauritius for the past 20 years, while supporting the sufficient and stable electric power generating capacity in the country. The tenth project will be completed in September 2017.

BWSC has deployed its comprehensive operations—which cover diesel and biomass power generating facility engineering, construction, operation, maintenance and management—around the world. Boasting a delivery track record of more than 175 power generating facility deliveries in 53 countries since its founding, to date it has produced cumulative power-generating capacity of more than 3,500 MW.
