ClassNK IE P&S certification for engine monitoring system CMAXS LC-A

Mitsui E&S DU Co., Ltd. (Head office: Aioi, Hyogo, President: Hiroyuki Takumi; hereinafter ‘MESDU’) has obtained the IE P&S certification (Innovation Endorsement for Products & Solutions) of the Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) for its CMAXS LC-A marine engine monitoring system and service (hereinafter ‘this system/service’).
ClassNK's IE P&S certification is a third-party certification for innovative technologies and initiatives (concept and actual services), which endorse the feasibility and value of innovations.

 

This system/service is a next-generation marine engine monitoring system/service which has been in service since 2016. The value of the service, which uses eXplainable AI (XAI) based on engineering principles to detect marine engine failures at the predictive stage, automatically identify the parts and factors causing the failure, and enable quick troubleshooting support on-board, has now been evaluated by ClassNK with IE P&S certification.

 

MESDU is focusing on digital strategies, including the use of digital technologies and the provision of digital services, to resolve issues of a society with a shrinking population as one of the material issues set out by the MITSUI E&S Group for solving social issues. MESDU will continue to contribute to the safe operation of ships through the provision of this system/service.
