MITSUI E&S has received a letter of Intent (LOI) for four methanol-fuelled engines (G80ME-C10.5-LGIM)Total of 17 methanol-fuelled engines

MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Takeyuki Takahashi; hereinafter referred to as "MITSUI E&S") has received a letter of Intent (LOI) for four methanol-fuelled engines, MITSUI-MAN B&W 6G80ME-C10.5- LGIM-EGRTC, for container ships to be built by Japan Marine United Corporation (President: Nobuyuki Nada, located in Yokohama-city, Kanagawa).

With this LOI, the total number of our methanol-fuelled engines ordered by domestic shipyards is now seventeen. Eight of these engines are the G80ME-C10.5-LGIM, the largest class in our lineup, including the first four units ordered in the first half of 2023. To meet the increasing demand for large dual-fuel marine engines, we have been increasing our production capabilities since fiscal 2022 and building an organization to provide a stable supply of dual-fuel engines.

In addition, since we delivered the world's first methanol-fuelled engine in 2015, we have accumulated knowledge regarding maintenance and inspection services. By leveraging that experience, we can provide methanol-fueled engines with peace of mind. We will continue to provide customer-friendly services to ensure we are chosen by our customers. As a marine propulsion system supplier, we will continue to contribute to the realization of a low-carbon and decarbonized society in the field of marine logistics.
