Mitsui E&S Group Obtains "Kurumin" Mark Certification Based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children

The Mitsui E&S Group has been certified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a childcare supporting company under the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), and has obtained the right to use the Kurumin next-generation supporter’s mark. In order to support its employees in finding a healthy balance between their work and family lives, the Group has formulated a general employer’s action plan based on the Act, and is implementing a range of measures with the aim of creating a better working environment for its employees, while contributing to local communities by providing support for parents raising the next generation of children. Under the FY2015-16 action plan for which the Group received its certification, the Group encouraged both male and female employees to take childcare leave, conducted training seminars aimed at young female employees in relation to career-shaping support, and encouraged employees to make use of their annual paid holiday allowances. The Group also implemented various initiatives aimed at students, including internships and factory observation visits. Moving forward, the Group will work to establish better working conditions that will help contribute to supporting work-life balance and the review and revision of working styles, with the aim of creating a workplace environment that will enable employees to achieve a healthy balance between their work and home lives and make maximum effective use of their abilities, while fitting in with important events in their lives.
