Smart Port Digital Solutions
Providing optimal logistics for maritime, port, and land transportation through data aggregation and integration
As a leading manufacturer of port cargo handling equipment and TOS (Terminal Operation System, product name CTMS) in Japan, we aggregate and analyze data related to cargo handling management, maintenance management, energy management, and supply chain management. By combining this data with simulation technology, we enhance logistics productivity, reduce the burden on port workers, and support zero emissions.
Main Features
The "Smart Port Digital Solutions" consists of two components: "3D Digital Port Platform" and "Application System."
3D Digital Port Platform
- Simulation
Supports better operational planning through cargo handling simulation results linked with TOS.
Recreates past scenarios using TOS data to improve planner training effectiveness. - Digital Twin
Aggregates key data from container terminals and visualizes it in real-time.
Enhances work verification and enables remote management. - Dashboard
Displays KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and efficiency metrics in real-time.
Combines with simulation to explore optimal operational methods.
Application System
- Cargo Handling Management:
Utilizes AI from Hitachi, Ltd. to plan cargo handling and evaluate plans through simulation, reducing planner workload and achieving better container terminal operations. - Maintenance Management:
Implements remote condition monitoring system "CARMS" (*1) and inspection information management system "CREWS" (*2) to achieve maintenance without stopping cargo handling. - Supply Chain Management:
Integrates data between container terminals and land transportation to resolve congestion and minimize turn time. - Energy Management:
Predicts container terminal power consumption based on cargo handling plan data, achieving energy savings and CO2 emission reduction.
*1 "CARMS" is a trademark of our crane remote monitoring system.
*2 "CREWS" is a trademark of our inspection management system.
Future Developments
Development by providing the "Port Digital Solution" early, we aim to realize data-driven container terminal operations.
In the operational planning of container terminals, which involves various decision criteria and unpredictable external factors (such as vessel and trailer schedules and weather impacts), we not only optimize individual cargo handling tasks but also consider maintenance of cargo handling equipment, energy, and coordination with land transportation to optimize the overall container terminal operations.
