we are proud of our abundant production record and experience. - Mitsui E&S Co., Ltd. has manufactur diesel engines in a single engine brand since it entered into the license agreement with MAN Energy Solutions SE (former Burmeister & Wain) in 1926. In June 2018, the accumulated production of MITSUI-MAN B&W diesel engines reached 100 million horsepower and exceeded 6,500 units As a leading manufacturer of two-stroke diesel engine in the world, we are proud of our abundant production record and experience. Today, LNG, ethane, methanol and LPG have been seen as alternative fuel selections for propulsion of ships, given its economic and environmental advantages. In accordance with the trend, demands for dual fuel diesel engines for marine use are increasing, called ME-GI/GIE/LGIM/LGIP which utilize them as fuel as well as heavy fuel oil and we proceed our production capacity and facility to provide various fuel engines. In addition, We've been working for R&D with the Licensor to utilize ammonia and hydrogen as latest fuels for marine use. We are also taking positive steps to develop our own technologies and products for environmental and energy conservation. Turbo Hydraulic System type2 (THS2) is developed as a waste heat recovery system from turbochargers with hydraulic.
Main Features
- Engines in a broad range: from 1,600 kW to 75,570kW output can be manufactured with the line-up from 260mm to 980mm cylinder bore and from 4 to 12 cylinders.
- We respond to customers' requests for design, manufacturing, and after services.
- Not only engines, marine propulsion system equipments(FGSS: Fuel Gas Supply System) can be supplied including our own LNG fuel high pressure pump for dual fuel engines.

A joint corporation, CSSC-MES Diesel Co., Ltd. (CMD) was established as a diesel engine manufacturer in Shanghai by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Ltd, (CSSC), Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. (HHM) and us. -
2015
World's first ME-LGIM, methanol liquid gas injection diesel engine completed.
Japan's first ME-GI, methane gas injection diesel engine completed. -
2016
World's first ME-GIE, ethane gas injection diesel engine completed. -
2018
Accumulated Production of 100 million BHP with a single brand. We are in a dominant position of two-stroke diesel engine makers in Japan with the market share more than 50%. -
2019
For ME-GI of LNG fuel, high pressure pump (MHP-3) completed by our own technologies.
